Poncho, cape, or wrap?
A poncho pulls over the head and hangs from the shoulders. A cape is close enough that the words get used interchangeably. A travel wrap is a flat piece you arrange yourself, which makes it more versatile but less structured — if you want something that holds its shape without arranging, a poncho is the one.
When it works best
Transitional weather, travel, and evenings that turn cooler than the day promised. Caring for it — and easy returns

If you're experienced with washing cashmere at home, use cool water and a gentle detergent, press the water out rather than wringing, and dry flat away from heat — never hang it, since the weight of the water pulls the shape long.
